energy saving bulbs are just mini versions of florescent strip lights, they have
in the strip light a filament at each end and a small amount of mercury which when heated by the filament vaporises and gives a plasma like glow the fluorescent coating reacts and produces the light we see.
energy saving bulbs dont use filaments, they use high speed switching thyristors. | Report
